Specialists in plains game safari's, kulling and vermot hunting in South Africa

Louis Fourie a full-time farmer, game rancher, hunter and fisherman, is responsible for the running of Mountain Reedbuck Safari's. He grew up near Philippolis, a small town in the sheep-farming southern region of the Free State, a province in central South Africa. After working in the U.S.A. for almost 2 years helping with deer & antelope hunting he would like you to come and live the true African hunting experience.

In 2001 he worked for JO McDonald in Hullet, Wyoming. Here he helped with the deer and pronghorn antelope hunters and accompanied him on elk hunting trips to the Rocky Mountains. He also worked for Robert Brand in 2002 in Lucas, Kansas.

Hunters and observers are cared for by a professional hunter and trackers. Skinners are also provided for trophy preparation. Night hunting is also possible. Bow hunters are also welcome.

Hunting is conducted in the southern region of the Free State on a private game reserve as well as in the North West Provice which borders Botswana and the Northern Free State. From these reserves the game is selected for hunting. The main 28 000 hectare reserve consists of a wide variety of habitats. The open savanah bushveld and rugged mountains favour a unique diversity of wildlife species.

The best hunting is from mid February to the first week in October, with temperatures from 85°F in February and 60°F in June and July. Night temperatures can go as low as 20°F at night in June and July.
